Rod Holder For Bank Fishing

Featured Replies

Not sure which thread this post should go into. I am going to try and do more carp fishing this year and wanted a set-up that could hold my rods up idle. I've seen You Tube clips where people have bells and buzzers that go off once the rod twitches but I cannot for the life of me find any of these products online for sale. I want one for when I bank fish that I can just place on the ground nearby and watch. Are these even for sale in stores or are people making them out of PVC pipe? Not quite sure, but would be open to making one myself if someone already had the blueprint for it. Anybody out there seen these things for sale and can guide me in the right direction?

My dad has purchased many in the past for striper fishing along rivers and on the beach... Making them is also easy...

  • Cut PVC to desired length (varies depending on rod)
  • Cut a slit in one end ( this will be the end going into the ground)

Hope that helped and hoped you enjoyed my diagram, LOL

Also I have found bells like you mentioned above at Sports Authority... Another trick that is pretty efficient is tape a small glow stick at the top of your rod tip and you will see the color(rod tip) bounce up and down when a fish strikes...

NICE diagram hahaha :angel500: . So he just cut a point in the one end and used the PVC pipe alone stuck into the ground? I would settle for that, but I've seen some crazier things that hold multiple rods and jingle when fish bite. I want to go a little more in depth than a single pipe.

ohhh that's a nice idea. I think I'll check into the glow stick idea, I hadn't thought of that before. Maybe I can just make a H shaped base out of PVC pipe with multiple pipes sticking up at a 90 degree angle. Thanks for the glow stick idea I like that a lot.

No problem, and I like the multiple pipe idea...
