i was wondering if anyone has heard of a new regulation or proposed legislation to be introduced regarding fishing within 250ft of shore, dock, raft, or moored boat? I saw this on another site and was wondering if there was any validity to it?   Leave it to New England,  are we the only part of the USA filled with wackos.  U never here of these regs anywhere else, and how do they get these things past anyway?

They have regulations like that in chicago. Do I ever follow them? Nope.  

Why are these tree hugers always trying to get new regs,to hurt the sportsman & then they get the legislators to back them when they know it's fisherman, hunters, and the outdodors people who thru their buying products, permits and  licenses that generate most of the conservation and animal protection monies.  I'm only hopping that if these new regs are true that the sporting gd stores, hotel and motel owners and restraunts, and service stations put some pessure on the legislators to repeal these regs, after all if passed it is they that will be hurt the most if the sportsman stop going to their state to hunt and fish.

The new bills that they are proposing are just ridiculous.

The 250 foot one likely will get thrown out.

 

The ones to be really aware of are the soft plastic ban, and the ban on lead jigs that are under 1oz/ 2.5" in length.

I urge all of you to take the time to write a sincere letter to the legislators that are supporting these bills. Be polite, and be fair. This is our livelyhood. We need our voice heard, and to be respected.

Don't just fill out the form from fishamerica or whatever it is. Those canned responses aren't taken seriously.

I say we divide the us in half horizontal. All the democrats can live in the north and all make the same wage regardless of job, live in housing developments overrun with wild animals, have massive fish kills in their lakes and streams. All the normal people will agree to move south of the line and continue living like regular individuals. North of the line, no guns, no ammunition. They tear down every house in favor of everyone having the same cardboard box with nothing to individualize them. Everyone can eat the same tofu dinner every night of the week, you want tacos you say, too bad the community is having bark sandwiches. Likely all the people who make this country run will be in the south so no mechanics, no butchers(not that you will need them), no road work.

 

I really honestly hope society does collapse at some point so we can weed out some of these idiots.

What is the reg? Maybe I am missing it but are you saying you cannot fish within 250 ft of those items?

And jhoffman, you live in a fantasy world.....wake up and look around you and just because "tree hungers" view the environment in a view that doesn't coincide with what you like to do doesn't make them wrong. To say fishing doesn't have an impact on the waterways or environment is just silly.

I dont live in a fantasy world. I live in a world where I do my thing and you do yours, what this country was founded on. I dont tell you that you cant do yoga on sunday so dont tell me I cant hunt on sunday. Everyone needs to quit stickn their nose in everyones business with their next bright idea to save the world. We are a spec in the grand scheme of the universe. Man is not the sole cause of global warming, the fish arent being overharvested in this country inland because we ourselves have created agencies to make it not happen. Without the funding of sportsman these lands so many people claim to love would be wastelands.

 

Sorry if I dont wanna eat any of that pie, tired of some idiot out in left field screaming that the umpire behind the plate is blind.
