First Tournament Of The Year. Not So Good

Featured Replies

Fished yesterday here on Blue Ridge Lake in Fannin County Georgia. Blasted off at daylight. Only 8 boats showed up (because of the ugly weather i guess) Fished in the rain all morning without a bite. Weigh in is at two and we didnt catch a fish until about 11:30 and my partner caught one fish under a shallow dock on a fluke, i lipped it for him and put it in the livewell. 2 pounder and said cast back to that same spot, he did and caught another 2 pounder looked like twins. at this point i thought we had figured em out and might actually be able to get a limit, but after fishing that dock for a little bit longer without any bites we tried some other docks with the same set up and he caught one more just under two pounds. At that time it was pushing about 1:30 so we went and looked for one more lucky dock but couldnt catch any more.

Winners had 16.04 with a 5.4 spot for big fish (New lake record). But being new to tournament fishing, we went ahead and weighed in what we had since we worked so hard for them and we had 5.9... Kind of a slap in the face but like i said were new to tournament fishing and we have plenty more chances to do better.

Theres my tournament report.

How did your Tournament go this weekend??

Wow! a 5.4 Spot is a PIG! Thanks for the report!

welcome to the game!

my first tourny last year I lost a solid 2.5-3 pounder at the boat one my first cast of the day....that turned oit to be the norm for me that day. hook em and lose em lol

I would rather lose with a limit than lose on fish I left in the lake
