Rattle Traps

Featured Replies

For spring/early summer, whats your favorite rattle trap type bait? Ive only used the original "rattle traps" but I want to expand and try some others. Which ones work, which ones are duds?

  Thanks, n good fishn'

My success this spring has been with Red Eye Shads and Xcalibur XR50

Especially the Xr50 Blue Chrome/ Orange

8-)

Pretty much anything without a lip and with rattles works this time of year.

I however only use Bill Lewis Rat-L-Traps! ;)

i have absolutly fallen in LOVE with red eye shads....but i hate the over used, over hyped sexy shad color...it was hot for a while....but mabey i just got burnt out on them.....thats my goto rattle bait of choice. I Have other brands, but they seem to put out the most vibration of any that i own.

I am loving the RES and Xr50 I've used both of them in the past but this year they produce a lot more fish. I don't like the Rat-L-Traps as much. I don't like how the flutter when you pause compared to the xr50 and RES

I use both the Xr50 and the Rat-L trap and I have caught fish on both. Fish whatever your preference or fish both and see what you like.  Recommendations only go so far, you have to test it for yourself ;)
