Suffix 832 "Superline"....yeah right
I'm honestly thinking it was a bad spool. I was using a polymar (sp?) & a uni knot. I've been using these two knots for over 10years and have yet to have a consistent problem with my knots. The fraying was just from snipping the tag line, it just seemed like every time you touched it one of those thin strands came un done. Strange to say the least, I'm not giving up on sufix braid though, I was just shocked on this lines first performance for me. Like they say you only get one chance for a first impression. .......Oh and no I wasn't setting the hook to hard, trust me I have that down by now ;D

Suffix 832 "Superline"....yeah right
Well I got some 30lb Suffix 832 braid. I read the article in Bassmaster and it sounded interesting. Well spooled it up on my Revo S and hit the lake. Well the sensitivity is great, like all braid (IMO). I got my first bite and set the hook like always, I about fell out of the boat. The line snapped clean and the line was frayed like crazy. I thought it was just me, so I re-tied well during the trip I got broken off a total of 6 times! I was shocked. My fishing buddy was laughing at me "Superline huh?" In other words I'm going back to Sufix Premium Braid, and its cheaper. I usually go with a min of 50lb braid just because of the diameter. That could have been it Just thought I'd share

Spinning Reel for Fresh/Salt
NO Penns for me, I hate their spinning reels I've had more of their reels fail on me than any other I guess that is a good point, I might run into some bull reds or a nice size shark. I really like the Stradics but they are spendy. But I think I can get them for significantly cheaper 8-) Our area for Real Estate is very dependant on where you live in the county.

Spinning Reel for Fresh/Salt
I am a guide for a local community that has a 165 acre lake. I am only chartering trips for them now not hourly like I did last year (economy) So I have 3 BC reels that were personal but I used their Sahara 2500s and I loved them. But they aren't that cheap. I just got a job as a Kayak Fishing guide for a local company too, so I want to get one good reel and rod combo that I could use for both. I have always been impressed with Shimano Spinning reels. But what else is out there? I am open to other options. I don't want to go over $80. I might be able to get it for cost through work so We will see. Opinions? I want to match it up to a Medium rod for just overall fun, I'll be fishing for trout, redfish, and LMBs

rapala subwalk

Jig Fishing
I gotta just get out there a practice now. I am a worm guy at heart so this is a whole new process for me. We held a tournament for our residents out at the lake a few weeks ago and the largest bass of the tournament was caught on a Jig & Pig. It was a nice 5.8lb Tiger Bass. I just gotta figure out what trailers to use. I have some Chigger craws in motor oil, paca chunks (2" BK&BL), & some Rage Chunks in Gr. Pmpk. I have about 3 jigs left, one brown, one black, one green I'll see what I can do

Jig Fishing
Been busy with Work, School, and Deer season Thanks for all the replies guys, man this is why I love this site! I will try all of these. Our water is roughly 60* right now in the morning and worms up to around 65-68* depending on the weather. The water visibilty is ~3feet or so. I am using the green pumpkin just because it is a natural color and have good luck with it at our lake when the water is clearer North Star Baits really have my eye too, I like their jigs (from the looks of them). I really want to find something for the fisherman at my lake to really catch some cold water fish, I gotta be able to do it first to teach them though lol

Jig Fishing
Ok I am wanting to try some jig fishing down here in SC this fall/winter. I don't know if I am fishing them right or what, but I haven't caught anything on them. I am using Strike King Pro Model Jig, Green Pumpkin w/ a Rage Chunk Green Pumpkin. I also have been using Lunker rattle jigs same color just with Netbait paca chunk. I cast them out around docks and brush and let them sit, then I slowly drag them in with the occasional jerk to get some action out of them What else do I need to be doing? What do y'all do?

How do you get rid of the JJ Magic's smell
Get "Tuff Stuff" carpet cleaner and douse it and then let it sit for a little bit, then blot it with a rag. Then vacuum the spot and see if that works that stuff takes some smell away. Also if you get the citrus Aerosol air freshener stuff at wally world that helps too, it got the fish smell out of a friends car.

Got My Citica Back!
Well after tinkering with my Citica and being an idiot I couldn't get the thumb release to work again :'( So I asked on here and "fishfordollars" said he would fix it up for me. So I sent it off to him and was with him a very short time and he returned it to me and it works great now! It is smooth as can be and he oiled it for me as well. *Oh and he didn't charge me a thing!* fishfordollars is a great guy to deal with and does some good work. Just thought I'd let everyone know 8-) Thanks Again Jack!!
