White. Think white baits along with shad colors.

You can stay in Aquia Creek the entire day.

Hit all boat docks and piers.

Hit all grass you can find.

Hit the railroad bridge.

Hit the bank by the railroad bridge.

The long bank to the north of the railroad bridge on the "creek side" usually has bedding bass. But the Dogwoods have not bloomed so they are not on their beds. But they are somewhere waiting to move onto their beds.

Hit the area after the bridge on the south side as you go east from under the bridge towards the river.

Go out of Aquia and turn right for Potomac Creek. Go back into the creek and also consider hitting the boat houses and docks to your right as you go into the creek.

Go out of Aquia and turn left for Arkendale Flats.

Go straight out of Aquia and fish any crab pots if they are out.

Fish the buoy markers.

Spinnerbaits, lipless crankbaits, regular crankbaits and even plastics may work this time of the year.

Have needle nose pliers.

Have net ready.

Don't be surprised if you nail a snakehead.

Hopefully the large ocean yachts will not be chugging along  bouncing  you all around.

PM me as to how you did.

Good luck.

Jacob, I live by Bosher's Dam on the Historic James River.

Put your car on the dam and drive south for one block and there we are!!!

WOW, Sam and I thought I was the only one that knew all that stuff.  Aquia has everything you will ever need in it, minus bluff walls.  Everything else is in there though if you know where to look.  I have done very well there fishing in the spring, summer, and fall.  Love it there!

Couple of things I will add Rat-L-Trap and chatterbaits should be all you need for this weekend (tomorrow).  If that doesn't work Senko, plain and simple.  If they are not being aggresive dead stick the senko, but I am pretty sure they are going to be aggresive.  If you are fishing out of a small boat stay off the main river.  One more spot worth checking is going left out of the marina and hitting the main feed creek point( its a couple 100 yards to the left cant miss it.

hey sam I am looking on google earth and I found Aquia creek but how do you get to it from the marina?

The marina is in Aquia Creek.  Just past the train bridge!

Hope Springs Marina is on Aquia Creek on the up-stream side of the train bridge.

oh hahaha I feel stupid ok well I will try that hopefully we can pull out a few keepers. should I just stay in all the side creeks and coves and avoid the main river?

This time of year it is not uncommon to catch 4,5,6,7, and even 8lbs bass in aquia without going out to the main river especially if you have a smaller boat.
