What are some of yalls favorite baits to put on a Carolina Rig? I only got to fish for about an hour today because of rain and did not catch anything. I was using a Ribbit floating frog. I am also having a tough time feeling bites.

Tube baits for small mouth.  What line are you using/ what rod? You might not be getting bites.

I like using big 10 inch curly tail worms. I also had some luck using the swim senko, caught a 4lb on this. Im not much of a Carolina rig person, but these baits work when i do use it.

Understandable. Honestly in cold weather situations it took my friend close to 30 min to get a smallie dragging a tube bait but when he did it was a nice fish. Some baits just take patience. 

I am also unsure if my bait is working correctly. What I mean by this is I am not sure if my craws are floating correctly or if my rigs are correct. I was thinking about throwing them in the pool but the hook would tear the vinyl.

Not if you bury the hook or snip it off.

Be sure that when you use a carolina rig that you keep your finger on the line.  You really need to be as sensitive as possible.  if you are using a pretty heavy weight and the lure is behind the weight, it is very hard to detect the bite. 

 

I hold the line on any lure that is sitting in the water.  Worms, jigs, even jerkbaits.  But especially Carolina rigs.

 

Also, have you seen the video on Mojo rigs?  I watched it the other day and i am looking forward to using it.  It is like  a finesse c-rig and I bet it works great.  Can't wait to try it myself.

Well definitely the sensitivity won't be great with the shakespeare, but you could improve it by using braid or floro. You don't need to get a new rig yet, but using one of these lines would help increase the sensitivity with what you have now.

I have been "committing" strictly to jigs and the Carolina Rig. I went with the Zoom Lizard in Green Pumpkin and Watermelon Flake and the issue I have is that the bait is sitting (dragging) on the bottom. I know I have the rig set up correctly but shouldn't the bait be "floating" above the weight to attract attention and be conspicuous? 

I have had success with brush hogs, power worms, and lizards.

Zoom baits don't float well because they have a lot of salt in them. The lizard sort of drags along bottom behind the weight until the weight hits a rock of stick. When you pop the weight over the lizard will fly up erratically. If you want it to floating add a foam ear plug to your line right at the hook but IMO it does get S many bites.

I've had my best luck with Beavers and soft-jerkbaits. A lightweight soft jerkbait such as a Super Fluke has a really nice action on a C-rig.
