We currently have a Lowe 17' boat with an 86" beam and are looking for something a bit larger. We mainly fish smaller lakes and rivers, but would like to get something that could go out onto Lake Michigan. We'd like to stick with aluminum.

We were pretty set on the Bass Tracker V-18 Targa until someone mentioned that it didn't handle Lake Michigan very well. So we started looking into StarCraft since they have a deeper v. Any opinions on these two boats or any others that you think we should look into?

I've had it out 3 times. Twice for the motor break in and yesterday for fishing. Wind's blowing 15-20 with 30mph gusts. It handled well. I haven't been on Lake Michigan yet but will be within the month.
