I am wondering what size line alot of people use when they are wacky and t-rigging worms. I prefer to use fluro for these applications. I have been using 10 lbs test, but I have been thinking about switching to 8. I am just wondering were you guys fall on this issue. Thanks for any input.

As light as you can get away with base on YOUR waters and your gear specs.

I have 30lb braid for t rigs and platics and ill go as low as 8lb floro leader on it and up to 12

I have spinning rod for finnese worms and wacky or whatever and it has 10lb braid with a 6lb leader. Other2 spinning rods have 20 lb braid and 8lb floro leaders.

10 lb mono or floro is a good place to be. But let your gear and cover decide

I use 8lb. co-poly for for most applications. 

I like 17 for T-rigging and 10 for wacky.

T-Rig...15# and 20# floro

Wacky..20# braid with 12# floro leader on spinning rod

I use 10lb P-line 100% fluorocarbon for t-rigs and 15lb fluoro for wacky rigs unless I'm in reeds or heavy vegetation which gets 30lb braid

I use P-Line Floroclear in 6-15 lb tests depending on things like whether I'm throwing in laydowns or open water conditions.

 

I have been using XPS Fluorocarbon in 8lb test (a spool I've had for about 2 years I decided to pick up and try again) on one of my spinning outfits, as well. Been working great, holding strength very well.

 

Yo-Zuri Hybrid from 6-10 lb test, but more or less a backup or when I simply feel like switching from P-Line FC for a change.

 

These are all used as leader material only. My spinning outfits are spooled with 10 lb yellow Power Pro as mainline, and my main baitcaster has 20 lb yellow Power Pro.

 

You can certainly switch to 8 lb test and see if its smaller profile scores you more hits. It may or may not.

Remember that fluro is not totally invisible, so I find the smaller the better. I never us anything greater than 12 lb and usually 8 lb and even 6 lb in very clear water

I use 65# braid for flipping a Trig

12# yo zuri hybrid on my Trig worm rod

15# braid on my spinning reel for my Trig trick worm or senko

I don't consider a T-rig a light line rig and usually fishing worms from 6" to 16" with hook sizes 2/0 to 5/0, weight from 3/16 to 1/2 oz and always use a bait casting rod/ reel for this technique. I would say 8 lb for a 6" T-rig would be very light , normally use 10 to 14 lb FC depending on cover and depth, during the day time. At night I may go up to 17 lb premium mono.

Smaller worms 4" to 6" with 6 to 8 lb FC I drop shot or slip shot rig and use spinning rod/reel.

For Wacky I fish fluro.6 or 8 lb. And t-rigging on spinning I fish 8 and on a BC I fish 15 lb. But most of my T-rigs are on a BC set up.I have 6 rods set up on t-rigs.

     Thanks for all the responses. I have recently tried to experiment with braid and a fluro leader. When I fish this set-up I fell disconnected to the worm I am fishing. When I am using fluro I fell that I am more connected to the rig, either T-rig, or whacky. Does anyone else have this same problem, because I see alot of you are recommending the same braid/fluro combo I am currently experimenting with. I ask because; while fishing this weekend, I became frustrated with the braid/fluro set up and stopped using them. Now I am thinking about ditching them all together and going back to either 8 or 10 lbs fluro. Thanks.

I fish on my wacky fluro.in 6 or 8 lb. no leader.On a T-rig I do the same.Now on a C-rig I will fish braid and a leader.
