The black wire is normally negative, but check it out. Those aren’t connectors they inline blade splices being used a connectors. The sonar unit needs a fused connector.

Fishing from shore you don’t want to start using deep diving crank baits!
Shallow running floating crank baits like square bills are a good choice, wake baits and shallow running jerk baits should also work for you.
Remember these lures have treble hooks and snag easily. The hook set is reel and firm rod sweep, not a hard rod whip set.
Crank baits are all about retrieve cadence and chance of pace. Steady cranking can work but stop and go usually works better. Cadence means speed that can be fast, slow, in between or a combination of all 3. Trial and error until the bass react. 
From shore I would start in a marina, the dam area and long point points are places that bass tend to locate when hunting prey fish.

The plug (with pin / blades ) and 1 ground pin is a NEMA 5 standard 15 amp.
You can bend ( splay) the blade pins outward slightly to improve contact retention. Most boats use 3 contact twists lock plug and receptacle to eleminate lose contact.
If the plug has 70 amp round pins you need to replace the plug, receptacle w/ sockets,  sound be OK.

If the lake has a shad population that is the basses primary food source during the summer to fall transition. Locate the shad schools the will be there at the same depth.
Shad colored spinnerbait is the traditional lure for this seasonal period if the shad are between 1’ to 6’ deep. Deeper bait requires running deeper lures that are shad imitators like spoons, tail and under blades or bladed jigs.

water temperature was the key thing answering your question plus a few Crappie. The are in pre spawn and the rising water level flooded their original spawn sites. The male bass more then likely were looking for new water near the original area, the Crappie were starting to spawn in the new flooded brush but not in numbers, the females were probably fallen back to deeper pre spawn areas along ledges etc. Timing is everything during these conditions and locating baitfish mandatory.

What does your owners manual suggest you use? Synthetic oil is usually cleaner and should be preferred.

Factory aluminum props may not have identification but should have serial number stamped into the prop. Prop repair shop has tools to measure the prop pitch, rake and cup. Suggest going to a SST prop.

Rust does stain adjacent lures.
Rust is iron oxides corrosion product. No iron metal content no rust. 
Hooks are the greatest potential to have iron content and most hooks today are nickel plated to prevent corrosion. Sharpening hooks removes the protective coating. If you see rusted hooks replace them or clean and dry them after removing the rust and re sharpening.
To remove rust stains from lures remove the hooks and soak the lure in warm water with baking soda scrub with old tooth brush rinse and dry.
Spray the reshaped hook with WD-40 and let dry before installing.

Keep mind the line capacity of casting reels is based on Mono line diameter FC is smaller diameter per lb test therefore increasing line capacity.
Daiwa Tatula SV TW 150 lusts 140 yards of 14 lb ( .015D mono) line that equals about 150+ yards of .013D FC line.

Silverwood is within your driving range, DVL maybe closer than Castiac/ lagoon*.
