Kerr This Weekend

Featured Replies

My son is fishing Kerr this weekend. Any helpful information that I can relay to him would be great. He will be fishing south of the state line only.

I promis to report back on his success.

Thanks in advance for any help!

On their beds.

Water was clearer down lake then up lake.

Water temp. in 60's.

Crankbaits, Rat-L-Traps, spinnerbaits and plastics.

Hit all coves and cuts.

Try middle and backs of creeks.

Most bass have moved up to spawn so do some sight fishing.

Hit all floating docks from all angles and with a number of baits. Spend a few minutes at each floating dock. Throw cranks, rats, spinners and then plastics in front, to the sides, and to the shore and back on all floating docks.

The Friday cold front may shut them down but they are in the shallow water or moving into the shallow water.

Good luck.

I will send this to him. Hopefully he will produce enough to place in his HS tourney. His brother is meeting him there to pre-fish tomorrow.

Thanks! I'll follow up on Monday with the results.

Was down there last weekend fishing from a dock near Clarksville.  Water was stained and rising.  Didn't catch anything, but wasn't really trying.

One thing was my buddy was fishing catfish and bait.  No bait, but one 10 lb cat.  But based on weather last year vs this year fishing should be on fire.

Following up....

Pre-fishing Thursday and Friday they were catching a lot of bass. Feeling very confident as he left the dock on Saturday morning for the NC Highschool Chanpionship only to find out that everything had changed. Caught one bass 3.5 lbs. Winning team had 3 fish for a total weight of 10.? lbs. caught on floating worms.
