Lite Swimbaits

Featured Replies

I'm pretty addicted to swimbaits, or ate least the idea of them, however I don't have a big rod to throw the weighter ones. Any recommendations for ones 1.5 oz or under?

I have the Spro 4" shad on my list so far.

A 6" Huddleston ROF 5 or ROF 12 is hard to beat. The 7" Stocker Trout or Bass is another good choice. Those are the only ones I'm familiar with. I'm sure some of the more experienced swimbaiters can off more suggestions.

BTW, don't overlook Storm's Wildeye Shad either.  ;)

Thanks for those. I should say I prefer hard baits to soft when I can, but with swimbaits that might not be an option.

If you can afford all of these, you can probably afford the rod for heavy swimbaits as well ;D

I'm also interested in this thread because I would probably be pushing my rod by going over 1.5 oz.

True, you can find very cheap, good quality swimbait rods, of course you can want and have a cool and nice swimbait rod, there 's such a thing ( check Mattlures SB rods ---> kooool !  ;) ).
