Swim Jig

Will a 3/8 oz Siebert swim jig skip better than a 1/2oz Siebert swim jig?

generally the lighter sizes skip better, but if you are looking to skip a jig, look at the brush jig or his BIG-O that head design skips well due to the flat sides.

This is why I have grown to really like this site. A competitor product giving advice on another persons jig line with no sarcasm or ill will.

And for the record I have no clue as I don't skip jigs but I have skipped soft plastics :)

I skip a lot of jigs and the Brush/Alien style jig head is great for skipping. 3/8oz is about perfect in weight IMO. light enough that it doesn't want to sink on impact, but heavy enough to get good momentum to skip it a good ways.

This^^^ x2

Siebert sells Arky jigs and they skip better than a brush jig. The flatter bottom glides really well on the surface of water and you can trim the skirt strands where they lay on the bottom of the jig to glide even better.

I fish a lot of jigs and find that arky heads skip better than brush jigs 3/8 skips great but a 1/2 you tend to have a little more control over and can push back small sticks/grass if you are skipping into cover.
