Titanium SPinnerbaits?

Featured Replies

I just recently started fishing spinnerbaits with any regularity, and I have quickly noticed that spinnerbaits rarely run true after a couple good hard hits. I dont mind reshaping them, but I have read that you never have to reshapen a titanium spinnerbait. Has anybody had any experiances with titanium spinnerbaits to reinforce this assumption? If so, what brands do you suggest using?

I'd start with some Terminator spinnerbaits.  I use them in our WI waters because of the pike...those fish LOVE spinnerbaits.  I was getting sick of having small hammer handles ruining expensive spinnerbaits, so I went with Terminator.

Some people have had problems with their swivels, but I haven't had any problems in the years that I've fished 'em.

Thanks for the reply, I appreciate it

There are other titanium spinnerbaits out there (Strike King, Stanley) but the Terminator are just more well known.

I used the bleep out of the Terminator Custom Compact Tungsten models for a few years, but I really don't like their hooks. Seems kind of cheap to me for paying that amount of $. The frames do hold up really well.

One of the properties of titanium is it flexes which makes it more resilient than steel but it also makes it less able to pull through grass or brush.

When they fist came out like nearly 20years ago, I "bought into them" and fished them all the time. Not only did the frames bend out of shape like they were not supposed to do, but they had problems with the wire breaking, right at the line tie. I had that happen only once, but I don't buy them anymore. BooYah work fine for me and they don't cost as much as t Ti spinnerbait.

Terminators are great spinnerbaits, well worth the money.
