Spittin Crankbaits???

Featured Replies

OK guys, was ky lake all week. The crankbait was on fire till fri eve. (for me anyway) then, I still got bit, but they were spittin the bait 85% of the time. I'm thinking they were just swiping at it and getting tangled in the hooks then getting free. I just couldn't get 8 out of 10 in the boat. (even that 6-7 lb.er :'( ) Is that sound right, what could I have changed to help with that if so?

Usually it's because there's something just a little off.  The color of the bait, the presentaition, SOMETHING that's making them not commit all the way.   Change sizes, profiles, colors and types of baits till you get them to swallow it.

Ol' Mr. Cranky.....presentation sounds good, did you try and slow it down some maybe pause it add a twitch or two in the retrieve.I've had days as you describe, this has helped me some.
