Alright Michiganders, Report In.

So now that the season is on, have you gotten to do some fishing yet? Any luck? What's happenin? I've fished Metro Beach off of St. Clair twice now (Kayak on saturday, from shore today). Done rather well. My biggest fish have come on a spinnerbait, couple on a rage craw, fluke, and inline spinners. Something different this year is the amount of bowfin. It's ridiculous! My first time even seeing one was last year and now they are all over the place in the marsh and canals I fish. They are constantly splashing and making commotion at the surface. Not sure if they are actually biting at something or just trying to distract me. They are a pretty dang good fight though. But I have yet to land one. They've shaken off or broken my line every time.  How are y'all doin?

I went the Sunday after open and caught 20 or so small keepers, all on an LC jerkbait. This was at the Heron Lake in the Holly Rec area, since my motor is down for service.

Me and the girlfriend went to Lobdell today and got a lot of practice casting, thats about it.

I did see a LOT of fish jumping today. Only one I actually got a good look at was a carp.

Definitely not as good as a start as last season.

I've had a good start. I have 29 bass and 1 pike total this year on three outings. Most have came on a Rapala DT3 Flat.

Saturday I got a bunch of 2-3 pound smallies in front of Selfridge. Most were caught on KVD 1.5 Square Bill Crankbaits in Green Gizzard.
