Rolled Hook Points?

Featured Replies

After 4 years of bass fishing, I have never "rolled" a hook point or seen it happen....... I don't know what it even looks like. Anyone got any pics of a rolled hook point? Thanks.

No pictures, but if the the point of the hook is bent unnaturally there you go. I am careful to check hooks regularly while I'm using them. It only takes a very slight bit of damage to dull, or even ruin a hook.

That's why they make hook sharpeners.  I've "rolled", bent, and dulled hundreds of hooks over the years. Never met one yet that couldn't be fixed with a hook sharpener - often times just as good, or even better than it was before.

If you fish around any kind of rocks sooner or later you will roll a hook point. I just fix them with a hook sharpner and go back to fishing.

X2 on the hook sharpener, great to touch up some dull spinnerbaits or jigs or any hook that as lost it's point. I use it to touch up the points on a bunch of my lures every so often when I have some downtime.
