Have you guys ever used the Tournament choice casting rods? I think they are "academy only" rods, but I am looking to save a little money to buy some tackle storage stuff.

Save your money. There are plenty of "budget" rods on the market that you can buy that still give great and trusted performance.

Yeah, i did. Ive also seen those rods before. My post above was my polite way of saying not to waste money on that garbage.

You could have bought a 6'6" medium Abu Garcia Venetta rod for $25 from Wal-Mart a month ago. That is 10 times the rod compared to the Tournament Choice. Check out that Berkley Lightning. I bought one and it is solid.

 

My 2 cents.

It's a good starter rod. Nothing fancy and is not going to be extremely sensitive. It is not on par with the vendetta as mentioned above but If you want a really good rod that IMO surpasses the vendetta and is cheaper retail get the H20 ethos (I own both)

Haha ohh ok.. I ended up getting a H20 ethos which is a rod i already have one of. I love them

I have one and I love it! Can't beat the price.
