Spro Bronzeye Stiffness Variation

Featured Replies

Over the past month I've purchased several new Bronzeye 65 frogs in different colors. I have one in rainforest black, one in nasty shad, a poppin version in the tree color and a regular 65 in the halloween color.

All the finishes on these are glossy with the exception of the Nasty Shad color, its a natural matte color.

The glossy ones are way stiffer than that Nasty Shad colored one...

Anyone know why some are more stiff than the others.

Any tricks to soften the stiffer ones up?

Probably from the clear coat vs non.

Imo I think Koppers makes a better frog. My Koppers last longer and stay nice and sharp. A lot of fish landed on them. My next frog of choice is KVD sexy frog. If you're open, try those two out.

Play with your frog before you throw it if you think it is too stiff. Once the rubber gets loose it will be fine.

I have used the Iobee frog. I just purchased some Spro's and KVD frogs. A few weeks ago was a weekend tournament for me. I caught my first frog fish on the Iobee. It seems the Spro's are just as stiff as the Iobee. I tied it on and caught fish with no altering. I don't think the fish cares IMO. The only thing I did do to the frog is I put Megastrike all over the body and the skirted legs.

I really dont like the hardness of the Spro.

I always inspect them really close to be sure the hooks are just barely laying on the body not tight to it. If they are I open them up a little.

The weight and action of both are pretty close but I think the popper stlye of the KVD spits a lot more.

One tip always squeeze them after a few cast's to get any water out, especially if it get's pulled down after a missed hit.

I tend to throw the Scum frog more often.

I like them a little better when the get water in them. They sit lower and displace more water which causes more commotion with less bait movement they also cast easier.
