Sad day in the racing community. One of the greatest short track drivers ever, D. Trickle, died of an apparent self inflicted gunshot wound.  He was the inspiration for the movie, "Days of Thunder"

Man I hate to hear that, one of Nascars best when Nascar was at its best, thoughts and prayers to his family and friends.

He was the butt of many jokes, but sad news indeed. I'll be honest I haven't read much on the story. Anybody know why he did it? (Maybe a letter left behind???)
