Checking In From Canada

Featured Replies

Just signed up here today to ask a question about a reel I have issues with. Looks like I may be sticking around so figured I would introduce myself.

I live in Creston, BC which is spitting distance from the Idaho border. Not a whole lot of bass lakes here but I'm lucky enough to have one of the best in the province only 15 minutes away. It's called Duck Lake and while it's small and shallow you can have some great days catching lots of bass. In fact when the wife and I decided to move out of the city (Calgary) and to a small town the bass fishing here was a big reason why we chose Creston. That and I got a job here before we even moved.

We even catch bass through the winter when there's enough ice on the lake. That was a first for me seeing how I was born and raised in Texas and ice on a bass lake seemed like fairy tale.

When I'm not working or bass fishing I'm flying RC Helicopters. In the winter when it's too cold to fly and not enough ice for ice fishing I hit the big lake (Kootenay Lake) with my buddy in his boat and we target Gerrard Rainbows.

I guess that's enough about me for now.

Welcome Larry. Wonderful having you with us from "Up North."

I remember riding in some helicopters a long, long time ago. Only problem was that the Gooks kept trying to shoot us down.

Have been in a helicopter only once when son and I flew with the WRVA traffic reporter on one of his morning missions about 20 years ago.

Keep us posted on your fishing adventures.

Thanks for the welcome guys. I'm hoping to spend Tuesday on the lake with a kid from work. I outfished him two weeks ago and he's looking for redemption so it will be fun.
