Cool Fat Ika Tip

Featured Replies

Check out page 53 of the newest BassMaster magazine and read about the backwards Fat Ika rig.  Interesting use of a swivel.

Sorry, but the reverse Fat Ika is now there for all to see.

I saw that too!  Did you see the tip in there from Triton Mike yet?  Not sure what page though.

Isn't using the swivel like that doing the same thing as one of those "Parasite clips"?  Maybe with a bit more weight though.

Thats almost exactly what I said when I saw that this afternoon. I think I will try the swivel thing saturday, it sounds like a worthy idea

Slide swivel onto line.

Tie on EWG hook.

Thread bait onto EWG hook.

Run other end of swivel over hook point and slide up to top.

Run hook through bait and Texpose.

Hope this helps.

Same here. I'm having a dee dee deeeee moment...

Good thing I stocked up on them a couple weeks ago.   I bought an estimated $180-200 dollars worth on clearance for $50 bucks

Yeah selfish or not I cringed when I saw the Ika in there.  Hopefully though people don't pay too much mind to it.  But its really no secret anymore. :-/

Thanks Brad

I was so upset when I saw the IKA on the cover that I almost cried!!  I really hope people think it is just some ordinary tube bait!!

I know the article mentioned that the swivel design is weedless however, I have a feeling that the swivel will pick up weeds and other goop.  I love the upside down IKA rig with just a #4 wide gap Gamo hook, it is totally weedless and you can really get some mileage out of one ika...it is amazing how you can use one effectively even though it is pretty well torn up!
