What Baits, Lures, Etc.?

Featured Replies

I'm looking for some recommendations for baits, lures, etc. to fish in the Finger Lakes region of NY to target large mouth from the bank. I figured I'd ask for recommendations rather than just grabbing some random lure and throwing it in.

Regardless of where you are or whether or not you have a boat, bass are bass. Any technique you see on this website would be a valid technique to catch bass, even if you do live in NY and fish from the bank. That said, some lures are better suited to bankfishing than others. When I bank fish, i like a texas rig, jigs and any kind of topwater. Hope this helps!

Like Brian said, just about anything can work. Depending, on weather, water depth, weeds and other cover, you could use topwaters, crankbaits, spinnerbaits, soft plastics and the like. I happen to live close to the Finger Lakes but the advice is not region-specific.
