A warm rain can certainty warm up the water temps, but whether the bite will improve is iffy. For example, the water temp might already be at an ideal temp before the rain so that the rain wouldn't improve conditions. But get out there and give it a try by all means.

Wow I'm ticked had a warm 2 days ago temps got perfect them had a cold rain today and now it might be back down again

My best day fishing so far has been in March and it happened to be raining. The weather was mild and the rain was warm. Caught 4 bass and missed a few other hits and got a couple yellow perch, a bluegill, and a couple nice big crappie. Pretty much a bit of everything and I probably could of caught more, but had to leave.
