G Loomis Glx 855Cbr Cranking Rod - Opinions?

Featured Replies

Anyone out there use or have used the GLX 855 crankbait rod? I'd be interested in your opinion. I am thinking about buying this rod, love throwing crankbaits so it will be my go to rod paired with a revo winch. I know it's a bit pricey for being a one trick pony but like I said I love throwing cranks and will use this as my primary rod. I just returned my veritas winch rod to bps due to bad guides. Actually, I exchanged the first one and then returned the second one. Both had the same issue.

So before I take the plunge I would love to hear opinions on this GLX. Thanks all!

Have not used this specific rod but you should contact Gary at TTT. He can give you great detail of all the characteristics of this rod and also possible alternatives in the GLX lineup. He has personally fished everyone of them intensely. It is certainly something I would do before I bought any high end cranking stick. If you need more info PM me.

That's great to know. I'm going to PM you shortly. Thank you!

Yep. I was seeking a rod for lipless cranks & square bills and this is the rod Gary recommended I get. Great guy - very helpful.

I have not used the rod yet, our bass season doesn't open until next month.

It is very well made and feels great in hand. I'm really looking forward to using it this season.

Good luck!
