Zoom Ultravibe Speed Craw vs. Berkley Chigger Craw?

Featured Replies

Will  the Chigger Craw out perform the Speed Craw in most situations? I've heard alot about the Chigger Craw it sems as of late. Is there a certain situation where one would perform better than the other?

Zoom Ultravibe craw is my go to bait.

But if you are going to buy both I'd suggest the zoom for a reaction type bait and the Chigger craw for when you need more finesse

the ultravibe has A LOT more action that is considerably more rapid as well.  I like the chigger craw when doing a drag and slow hop presentation but prefer the ultravibe when fishing the jig faster and looking for a few reaction bites.

I prefer the Chigger Craw.

Later, ;)

I like the speed craw as a trailer on swimming jigs and for fishing fast when using a texas rig. I use the Chigger Craw for flipping and fishing slower.

I was fishing for smallies last week and was killing them on Zoom Speed Craws.  I ran out, tried the Chiggers, same color, and zeroed on them.  The Speed Craws have very good claw action, Chiggers not so much.  I'm not knocking them - next time out the fish may want less action and the Chiggers may do great but the Speed Craws have worked on both largemouth and smallmouth for me for years now, and they've become one of my go-to baits.

chigger all the way

X2

Roby

x3 but it has to be the one with crazy legs

I'll go with the Ultravibe, this has become my favorite soft bait.

I don't think you can go wrong either way and can't really think if a situation where one would be preferable over the other.

After thinking about it a little more - there is a tendency for the little "hook thingies" to tear off of the Ultravibe in really heavy cover - so in that case the Chigger Craw may be a better option.

chigger craws (green pumpkin w/ green fleck or black and blue) but honestly i've never tried the ultravibe.  The chiggers have worked so well, I've never needed anything else.
