Lake Lochloosa & Wauhburg (How's It?)

Featured Replies

Planning on doing a fishing trip to one of these 2 lakes this Saturday. Any feedback on them? I am in Gainesville and have learned that the bass fishing in and around town is terrible. In fact, so far, it is. Ponds have nothing in them, Newnans lake was a dud. I am hearing that these two places are my best bet.

Any experiences with these 2 bodies of water within the last year?

Loosa has been giving up fair numbers of bass.nothing to bragg about but ok. most fish are in the grass and you have to fish slow. wauburg I havent heard anything about since early spring.

Thank you, Sir. Looks like finesse jigging, and weightless plastics. I'm sure I will figure out more once I get out there.

Cheers.

Lochloosa has been terrible lately. The water temps are getting high and the bite is going to nothing. The last two times I've fished it ive got less than 10 bites total with most of them being dinks. Unless you're fishing it in a tournament (like i had to) i would honestly go somewhere elsr

At this point, I am pretty much giving up on bass fishing while I am here for the next year. I will have to plan trips to fish elsewhere from now on. Local waters no go.

Bummer.

Looks like the Redfish are calling my name for awhile... :bushy-browed:

Where are you coming from? I can help point you in the right direction of some lakes where you will catch plenty of bass all the way through july..as long as there's deep water (10-20ft) unlike lochloosa you can still slay em crankin
