So I decided after cathcing a bass in January this year that I would try to catch a keeper (I throw all bass back) a month in the ponds around my house. So far I have had success every month, toughest was February so far. Caught a 2 lber on the 26th. Went out with my daughter today and settled the score for June. Biggest fish of the year. 5.49 lb and it was a blast to catch. Caught this one on 8 lb test, Shimano Spirex (recently replaced by Shimano) thank you very much. Had a Texas rigged wolly worm from Yum baits. Dag gummit it was a good time. Thanks to my daughter for being there to catch the photo.

Way to go!  Glad you got to spend some time on the water with the kid.  One of my favorite things to do is fish with my boys and wife.
