Pro Qualifier And Bass Pro

Featured Replies

I was put into total shock this last Saturday morning.

I received a Pro Qualifier reel from my kids last Christmas. I liked the reel quite a bit but it has always had a slight grind feeling to the reel and casting distance never seemed to be as good as it should be to me. I did clean the reel and oil and greased it back up and had it better than it was new but something was still not quite right feeling to me. I know, how can you judge feeling.

Anyways, I was looking at it close this last Saturday morning and noticed a flat spot on the outside circumference of the spool. Not huge but it was there. I think I finally found the culprit to the feeling issue I was talking about.

I took the reel back to Bass Pro and went to the counter fully expecting to have to send the reel in for repair and even pay for it since it was 6 months old. I asked the guy behind the counter if he thought the flat spot would cause issues with casting and a grinding feeling and he said "I bet it would", and walked away. Then to my surprise he came back with a brand new reel in the box and handed it me and said go to customer service and have them call me if there is any questions.

They up and exchanged a brand new reel for me no questioned asked. I was totally shocked. Strike one up to BPS. They have a customer for life.

I've often heard about the amazing service from BPS. I wonder how they handle situations when the models have changed or no longer in production.

That is Bass Pro service for you.  I have had some issues with rods before that broke while casting and went in and they replaced them no questions asked.

I had 11 reels (all PQ) that my buddy needed re-spooled for a tournament yesterday.  I called BPS Saturday night at 530PM and they said they would re-spool them with my line for free.  It took them 30 minutes.  I'm a HUGE fan of their service.

I had a Browning rod that was a Black Friday special, the tip broke off. They told me to go and get another rod for that price. I decided to upgrade so I got a better combo for $10 more. They even gave me the spool off the reel with my line on it. I was impressed to say the least.
