Im heading to Bass Pro in Dania Beach tomorrow with a friend of mine. We plan on staying down there and fishing for peacock most of tomorrow. I was wondering if anybody can point me to a good spot that has peacock bass around that area. We just need to catch one each and I'll be happy. (bank fishing)

Pea's in my experience like fast moving lures. They only time I have had luck with them using plastics is if I come across a bed, and then they can really get aggressive. Most of my luck with them has been with some sort of jerk bait. Good luck.

Ive caught all mine on chart/black, chart/white cranks and spinners. spring and sunny colors would probably work well too. Burn em!

That's where I would have sent him as well. That must be the best known PeaCock spot in South Florida. I have been seeing a couple of them on beds as of two weeks ago.

Yes they are all bank canals. Park near the new Temple being built in front of the park. I-75 and Griffin

you pretty much cant go wrong with a fast moving lure since they are pretty aggressive...i kill them on a yo-zuri minnow reeling it in very fast 

Those canals are very low banked in that area, not high like we have in Palm Beach County.  Last time I was there i did see tarpon rolling as well, couldn't get a strike and a 6'6 6'12 spinning rod wouldn't have cut the mustard anyway.

No Peacocks. I tried the Griffin & 75 canal. I also tried Wolf Lake Park. I seen 2 there. I also talked to a guy who told me a spot and I fished there. (close to Griffin/75) I seen a few there too. I had a nice 3-4 lber chase it twice and I had something hit my popper but I didnt land any Peacocks. Im going to try again soon. Thanks for the advice.

At least you saw signs of life and  got your heart pumping. We are entering a nice part of the year for pea's. Summer time is brutal for us, but pea's are easier to come by. You will be a pro in no time. Keep at it.
