Bassmaster Elite Series

Featured Replies

The Bassmaster Elite Series is coming to La Crosse, in the Mississippi River Rumble.  I one day hope to be at that level and I will be volunteering back stage this year.  Does have any good questions to ask them to better my fishing skills?

My inlaws live in LaCrosse, I've fished the main river and some of the slews close to the city and on the Minnesota side as well. Lots of nice fish to be had. I would ask how they fish the main river as opposed to the backwater areas if they change tactics or baits for each!

Don't ask questions.

Get autographs and photos taken with the pros of your choice.

Just remember this is their "job" and their "career" so although you are happy to see them, after a tough day on the water, they may not be glad to see you.

Find Art Ferguson and talk to him about his jig heads and tell him Sam in Richmond says hello.

I met some of the elite pros here in Virginia when they fished the Blue Ridge Brawl at SML. Some had been knocked out, some just finished for the day, some getting ready...just met them at all stages of the tournament and I think it boils down to "who" that "person" is that determines how happy they are to see you or reception you get. I think most of those guys understand that it isn't often we as anglers and fans actually get to see these guys in person so it they know how much it means to us. I don't believe in trying to borrow them for half an hour and wouldn't dream of it but if they blow you off it's not because they had a "tough" day on the water....I'd say they're just an egomaniacal jerk.. I've met both types, good people and jerks in both fishing and pool....It's just "who" they are IMO.

Tough day on the water?! I know it's work guys and I respect them but I'd rather do that than spreadsheets all day....(which i do)...and no, I wouldn't be happy to see you after 10 hours IN THE OFFICE!! LOL......
