Motorguide Trolling Motor Noise

Featured Replies

My trolling motor has been making this very loud squealing noise when I set the speed anywhere between 1/3 to max speed.  It only does it while in the water and makes no noise when its out.  Has anyone ever had this issue and what was the cause/solution?  As you can imagine it gets pretty annoying while trying to sneak up on bass or trying to fight current.  It is an 82lb Digital Tour. Thanks in advance for the help!

Video won't work on my phone but check your prop for any irregularities as they can cause it to make noise.

Pull the prop off and make sure there is no line wrapped around the shaft behind the prop.

I already pulled the prop an there was nothing obstructing it.
