Fished a tournament out at beaverdamn.

34 boats showed, which about average for the tourneys they hold here.

Day started out about 65 degrees an no wind.

tough day on the water to say the least.

we fished main lake points an drops in the 12 to 18 foot range.

we had 13 bites the entire day and only caught 8 of those fish.

7 bass, and one chain pickeral.

had our limit of 5 in the boat in the first hour an half, an the fish just shut down.

We tried a bit of everything, from slow rollin a hank parker classic on the ledges, to pitching the brush with a jig n pig, an everything in between.

Baits that caught our limit - 3/16th KVD shakey head with a 7inch greenpumpkin zoom trickworm, BassPro weighted wacky with a 5inch Senko greenpumpkin black flake.

Our five fished weighed in went 10.38 and we finished 10th.

First place was 14 pounds an some change and had big fish as well 3 pounds 13 ounces.

Was an awesome time an made some new friends along the way... one of the things I love about tournament fishing at this level..... everyone is real...

errr 10.13 was our weight. Official ppostings on there website will be out next week, I will then add a link for it.

welcome to the site. Fun fishing day. The Beaverdam down there produces big bass in the tournaments pretty consistently. It seems like a great lake to fish.

Im actualy fishing the opens their throwing... there's one more to go on Sept 21, then they have the classic in which the top 20 for the year fish, an get a boat launch pass for the next year. Right now Im sitting in 18th place. hope to stay in the top 20 as I like the lake an plan on fishing it on a reg next year.  So far all the tournaments have produced several fish over 4 pounds a couple over 5 an one over 6. This last tournament how ever... big fish didnt crack the 4 pound mark. Even the "locals" that fish it weekly said it was a super tough day on the water... and were suprised that as many people braught in a limit as they did. Its not that big of a lake if you ask me, not for the amount of boats that fish there. they have upwards of 60 boats at times fishing those tournaments, like fishing over top of one another almost. Def fishing used water, if you dont have a fast boat to roll around in..... these guys with there two torqeedo motors putting a 14 double wide job boat up on plain as they roll by me an my to man bassin buddy! lolololol
