Berkley Lightning Rod Shock Casting Rod Strange "guide"?
I use the Fuji hook keeper as some of my older rods that dont have the newer added on Hook keepers built in. They work good as well.

For Those Of Us That Fish A Senko Worm
My youngin has braces an the ortha doc gives her packs of mini rubber bands for them, I snag a pack or two of those from her from time to time... they work well... I just use two at a time to maintain the same firmness as the original O rings I used before. and I agree... rather then hooking directly through the worm, I like to slip it under the O ring.. but not into the worm. Helps with action on the worm if you ask me.. more a free natural type deal.. an hook up ratio is better as well.

Back Mill Pond
7.3 was the weight. which is only an ounce better then my PB at the beginning of the year of 7.2. But an ounce is an ounce an sometimes that extra will win for you in the end ... lolol if I could ever catch somethin that big in a tournament! lolol

Back Mill Pond
Hit the pond this evening with my fishing partner. Thinking it would be a decent top water bite, overcast temps in the low 80s , water levels were up just a bit, but alittle on the muddy side. Threw the, G-splash, buzzbait, with only one decent fish, that went 3.2, nice chunker on the G-splash. Around 8ish we pulled up to this tree..... I threw out this fluke right here on a Gama 4/0 widegap, landed right next to the tree. I set the pole down long enough to light up a smoke, picked it back up, an my line was running at a right angle away from the tree. I set the hook, and the fight was on! The fished pulled my little two man bassin buddy around in circles for a good 3 minutes, pulling drag from jump street, at one point I had to even further losin the drag, because the fish was pulling so hard, and I was fishing the fluke on ten pound Berkley Trilene biggame, didnt want to break off. Sometimes when you get a biggun like this, they cant hardly jump out of the water, normaly they get about half way up an out an shake once n back down they go, at this point she came out of the water just like that, an I realized two things! first, she was gonna tilt the scales a bit, an two.. she was hooked in the sweet meat in the corner of the jaw! She wasnt gonna spit the hook! So I had to play with the drag a bit an let her have her own head about the water an wait... with stumps an laydowns all around that area, it was only maybe 4 5 minutes of fighting time, but as alot of you can agree, when you have a fish like that on the line... those 5 minutes feel like an hour! It was a good fight, an I won in the end, only to release her back into the lake so maybe next spring Ill get her with some eggs an alot more weight This pond is producing some good fish for us this year, cant wait till fall an see what kinda lunkers we pull out! Did I mention that this is also my personal best so far for the year an still alot of fishing time left! Im on the hunt for them bigger then bigger bucket mouths! Tight lines all! Poorboy!

Lake Anna, Va Summer Bass Fishing Need Help!
Haven't fished there as much as Id like, about the only deep spot I know of, is fairly close to the main launch ramp. If you leave the ramp an go left, angle across the main body of water to the next creek up on the right.. there's a doc on the main point, an off that doc, about say 50 yards the point drops into 15 on down to 19 if memory serves me correctly... on the first part of the drop, there's a couple of bush piles.... they held some decent fish last year for me in mid summer. if you line your boat up with the house on the point and the point opposite of the doc it should put you inline with those brush piles, I found them with a C-rig, was fishing the doc in 8 foot of water an the wind blew me out away from it, an happened to come across it, At the time I pulled 7 fish off it.. biggest being about 3.5, rest all solid 2 pounders. If you go up into that same creek on the left side is lined with docs, count 6 docs down.. an between the 6th an the 7th doc there's another set of brush piles, in about 11 foot of water. Thats about all I know about deep water there. Hope that helps some.

Drop Shot With A Twist
My partner throws a a ds with a jackel wackey hook with a senko on the bottom. I've seen him catch fish on both the top ds an the bottom wackey. Never thrown it myself but have seen it work. IMO decent it catches fish, but not somethin Im likely to tie on. all though.. .I used to say the same about the original ds till I broke down an tried it. So that oppinion is subject to change

Meet And Greet On The Potomac August 24Th And 25Th
I would imagine its a long shot for there to be room for another none boater, but I would love to fish if anyone has room. and if not Im still going to make it there to meet everyone. Im new to the board an will be nice to actualy put a friendly face to all these poeple we talk to. I'd bring my two man bassin buddy, but I dont believe it would be any good on a river, two batterys wouldnt last very long. Anyway. Looking forward to meeting everyone.

Site Giveaways
For some one that works in the IT industry... your slightly miss informed, Face book has been hacked several times this year alone! Starting back in Feb 15, 2013! Some they have admitted to, some they havent, but if you know what sites to visit you can clearly see it was indeed hacked, and even exploited to a point! Showing the script that was used to gain access an all. Now Im no hacker, but I do some that do know what their doing, even spend time in the federal pen, because of what they did, and I've seen the post on FB, an while FB has a decent team of IT tech's an they tend to get to the root of the problem rather quickly, most times before any real damage can be done, or sensitive info compramised. But DONT think for a moment, that FB is secure , not 100% anyway, and while your sitting there on your FB account rest assured that the goverment see's ALL! Ive never owned a FB account, and not because any other reason other than I've never needed one. How secure or unsecure a site is, well there's none out there that are 100% secure, and thats a fact. BR is no dif then any other site, and could be gottin into just like any other one. I love this site.. an would never want to see anything happen to it... To many awesome things come from here and thats how it should stay always. FB ehhhh... it is what it is.. secure or not... there's poeple that will use it regardless of either.

Power Pro Zero Impact
Did I really just type that? Plz dont take that as Im trying to be an a-hole cause Im not. Your points are very valid, and aply to most, it really is up to each person to choose for them selves , by listening to what others have had to say about it, and by using it themselves. It was jus my oppinion on the line. Honestly if you have your drag set right, there should be no reason to break off a fish, be it braid with a leader, or floro, or mono
-
Power Pro Zero Impact
Agreed that there is less stretch when using braid with a leader on there, and of course the castability doubles in distance with braid, and for a person fishing super clear water, then the benifit of making those long casts comes into play. But if you fish no so clear to murkey water... the "long dishance casting isnt a must, rather a preference which nulls your point
-
Power Pro Zero Impact
The great debate... super lines verses mono and others.... I know the sayig is... the "leader" is good because it helps keep the line invisible so to speak from the targeted fish... but... what gets me is your sacrificing the super line because your tying on a weaker leader. Yes it helps keep the line hidden but at what cost? Ive tried the leader on my super line... (Nanofil) an it does make a difference... but I've also noticed that from time to time.. the leader will break , be it on a hook set, or while fighting a decent size fish, to me losing even one fish because of a leader breaking is not acceptable. So why not just use a higher strength mono or floro? Most of my gear has Berkley big game on it.. and I have about the same amount of breaks with that as I do the super line with a leader.. so why spend that extra $$ on something that is doing the same as the cheaper priced line???

Berkley Nanofil Line?
I recently tried the line out, an it does cast extremly far, and did experience a few line breaks on the hook set. But Ive found that if you take a couple feet off before every trip, you generaly wont have that problem with the line breaking. I used to have to the same thing back in the day with Spider Fusion. You could always tell the weak parts by the color.. once it turned white I knew to strip off that section of line. With the nano kinda the same thing.. only I have to guess at where it needs to be stripped to. I've also tried it with a flouro leader on it.. an the results for actualy catching fish were 5 fish with a leader to 1 fish with no leader. To me that seems pointless. Why spend that kinda money on a "super line" only to have to put a weaker flouro leader on it to catch more fish? I like the line.. an will continue to use it as long as it last, but I wont be getting anymore of it. Im a die hard Berkley line user.. but that nano.. isnt worth it.

Potomac River Snakehead Fishing
No tips about shore fishing for them as I've only been in a boat when catching them. I fished a tournament outa Leesylvania state park last year. and our first stop was at the mouth Quantico Creek. There's a nice flat just inside the left side of the creek full of coontail grass I believe it was. FIshing for large mouths at the time. with a senko rigged texas style/ weightless. We caught some nice bass but had to weed through the snake heads to catchum though. Conditions were rainy an a bit chilly with the wind blowing a steady 10mil an hour outa the norht/east. Was making long cast's and basicaly fishing it like you would a fluke. Biggest snakehead of the day was 3.5 pounds an a fun right for sure! I know there's some sort of park right there on that point, as there were several people shore fishing an were within easy casting of the flat I was fishing... Might be a spot for you to check out.

Under $100 Rods
This is gonna sound stupid I suppose. But I've never speant that kinda money on a nice rod. Most ive ever speant was 79.99 on BPS extreme serious rod. and the BPS crankin stick was 69.99, so I dunno if its worth the $ or not to get something more expensive when the stuff Im using now has about as much sensativity as anything I've ever thrown before.. not to say there arent others out there better that what Im talking about. But for the average guy like myself... cant afford anything really high $ , cause to me 79.99 was high!
