Took My Orra Back And Exchanged It For The Revo S

Featured Replies

This past Friday I went to the local Dicks sporting, and purchased a new baitcaster set up. Decided after doing a little bit more research, I came to the conclusion that I should of purchased the revo s instead.

Glad I did! Seems like a better quality reel, that will last.

My question is, how often to you guys perform matenance on this reels? Am I good to go out the box, or should I strip it and re lube everything? Keep in mine my mechanical abilities are very proficient. I'm used to doing this with pistols, particularly 1911s in order to tune them for smoother action, or doing trigger work as well.

Needless to say, this type of thing does not intimidate me at all. The reel feels very smooth out the box, so I'm not sure this is a priority at the moment. What do u guys think?

I think it is a matter of personal preferance as to when maintenance is needed.

IMPO the reel should be fished/break-in for a season first, this finds any issues that might arise............. :Victory:

Tight Lines!  :fishing1:

its up to you, i personally like to take apart all my reels new out of the box and clean and regrease/oil them. why? that why i know its done to my specs and a high quality oil and grease are used.

I like to fish them for a season out of the box and only break them down if something doesn't feel right.  Then I religously give them a good cleaning and oiling every winter between seasons.
