We Need An Icast '13 Thread!!!!!

Featured Replies

Zaytas have been said to arrive in October from Mr. Gary Dobyn's himself. 10 Models to chose from ranging from 7' to 7'9". Supposed to blow the DX away which is quite impressive if true.

I love seeing all the new gear but my favorite part of ICAST is the clearance sales on the "old stuff".

Pinnacle Perfecta 7 fishing rod and they also appear to have a new reel coming out also.

Found these on Pinnacle's Faceblah page:     That reel has Revo MGXtreme written all over it.

I'm getting really, really impatient.  :eyebrows:

Here's the new Revo Rocket 9.1 from Abu. Looks pretty much like a Premier with new paint and a revamped gearbox. Should be pretty sick for flipping and other applications where you need to take line up quickly.

I hope the new CI4 comes in a 5 gear as well. I need a new cranking reel and may just wait to get one when these hit in mid sept.

Waiting for the new Chronarch is what's keeping me from getting the Exsence DC but I might still grab another Scorpion DC.

Wanting to see more of the Quantum line and the left handed reels. The Quantum Tour MG and Quantum Energy Spinning reels look really good.

big bite baits is releasing a pretty awesome new crawdad soft plastic

What would be a use for a 400 sized reel in bass fishing? I can't think of a technique that needs that much line in bass fishing...

Maybe other large freshwater game species for guys south of the border and down on the Amazon perhaps????  I know it would be overkill in my neck of the woods for sure :eyebrows:

Redfish?

But...since the cat's out of the bag now, yes Pinnacle is coming out with new rods and reels.  Top-notch stuff. It's been in development for a very long time, and field tested over the past year.  Can't wait to get my hands on them at ICAST!!

Anything in Lefty?

Isn't it called the swimming craw? I picked up some a week or 2 ago and it said "limited edition" or something like that on the bag so I think that was sort of the prototype. The swimming craw is pretty much just an average craw with a hollow mid section, nothing special

I would assume this reel is not intended for largemouth bass fishing, though it might be used for throwing enormous swimbaits.  It looks to be a competitor for the Shimano TranX.

I always get excited for new baits.

Big Bite Baits' new stuff.

I heard Duckett is also working on reels, but I think that's gonna be ICAST 2014.

Now that ICAST is here, thought I'd resurrect this thread.

Looks like Ardent is doing another revamp of their reels:

Apex is the name, with prices from $ 100 to $150 for the three reels shown and up to *** bearings.  That blue one isn't an inshore reel either—it's a black/blue freshwater reel.  If the Apex series are made in the USA, they'll definitely be on my radar.

Looks like Pflueger is making a comeback effort in the realm of baitcast reels.  Tackle Tour has a photo of a new Supreme baitcaster on Facebook.  It's also blue and black.   :eyebrows:  I know they're almost certainly more Doyo specials, but still…

Yes the walking shad and ghost rods I am looking foward to

So the Duckett Rods with insertless guides split reel seat etc.. What do you guys think? Why are these so much cheaper than the micro magic?
