What Would You Have Done Here?

Featured Replies

So I was shore fishing at Great Quittacas Pond this morning and got skunked, even with very active bass. I took a screenshot of where I was fishing and drew what was going on, please take a look

The red line is constant baitfish movement for the time I was at the pond, little 1-inch silver baitfish, the green lines are groups of LMB. The LMB were striking the baitfish in groups against the stone wall, particularly in the corners and around the bend. The LMB were completely disinterested in anything except the bait fish, what would you have done here?

I tried crankbaits, spinnerbaits, soft plastics, flukes, lipless cranks, parallel casts with the shore and came up empty. Either way it was pretty cool to watch, the LMB were crashing out of the water and absolutely destroying the baitfish.

You were on fish and tried a variety of lures. Not a lot more that I can think of except...you didn't mention topwaters, which I would've wanted to try.

I'm a little late to answer this but a I would have started with a mini spinner bait white with silver willow blade nothing more the a 1/4 once. then used a fast, medium, slow retrieve to see what level they were biting. If you were seeing the action then a fast buzz retrieve on the surface.
