  1. I' saw q gator in a small pond in s nh years ago. Like mentioned they don't survive the cold and never heard or saw it beyond that one time but I know I saw it and know it's not impossible people release pets into the wild all the time. According to fish and game that's where all the mountain lions in the north east come from. Cuz it's impossible that they would roam this far
  2. Where on the merrimack are u I know the manchester bedford area
  3. Does anyone where I could find detailed maps of any bodies of water around here that would show structure or creeks channels or other underwater hot spots. I have navionics wns the winnipesaukee hot spots map also Clarke fishing guide but looking for more please help
  4. Holy jeez pcakes what part of the north east did u catch those especially those bronzers?
  5. I grew up next to big island and have plenty of access for boat or shore. I haven't yet pin pointed a good smallie hold however I would think boulder cover might do well. If u have navionics I've pinned tons of structure on the map. Caught a fat bellies LM last year across from Colette's grove on an under water rock point Runnin off the island
  6. What's everyone here favorite spring / pre spawn waterbody in nh? Mine is either massabesic on the east bank or sunset lake on the east bank for smallies
  7. How does that Castable fish finder work? I've been thinking about getting one for shore and kayak fishing
  8. Anyone here fish big island pond In Atkinson/hampstead ? Spent some time in te fall at draw down scouting some cover and creeks that will be submerged and went back to them this weekend with decent luck. What areas are your favorite pre spawn spots o BIP? Nashua Nev pipe in I think I've seen a post from u from there
  9. Fish lower mystic reservoir where te parm is just before the river outlet w crankbaits and soft jerks like a fluke
  10. This morning after loading my truck and trailer I threw 2 rods in my trailer knowing I would e spending the better half of the day in the lake again. A bait cast and a spin setup. No tackle bags just the baits I had tied on. Baitcaster was setup with flouro line and a strike king finesse football jig w rage craw both in green pumpkin and spin had light mono and a 5" fluke in ark shiner. The day was 65 and bounced between sunny and overcast. I flung around the fluke looking for some active chasers with nothing but a pickerel in about 10 minutes. Then I my go to bait. Jig and craw. First cast was a chunky looking LM that shook loose at the dock my following 4 Casts were all LM nothing huge but all a healthy 1-2lbs as this particular lake is loaded with. A couple cast of nothing but water and then I was back on and I could tell by the golden glimmer under the water that this was a SM my favorite. She had a hell of a belly and the smallest mouth. By the time my lunch was up 30 mins. I had landed 8 bass and 2 pickerel. That was some fast action to keep my co worker entertained
  11. Thanks for the insight susky. Any idea what causes then or what environment or area they're common. This was my 2nd biggest smallie to date and other wise an incredibly healthy looking girl
  12. Caught my first big smallie of the year last night after work and now in all amped up. She was tipping the scale around 5lb which up here In NH is trophy size. But she had these black dots looked like seeds on her they were 3 dimensional and the bigger ones were maybe the size of a sesame seed. Any idea? Do thy have anything to do with spawn or habitat?
  13. Up here in the northeast our winter melt has got the rivers up a good 10 feet which has flooded all sorts of new shoreline trees that te bass will go investigate for cover an insects so high water can be A blessing. Be super careful though if you get too close shell pull you in and water that cold and fast is a death sentence
  14. Most bass won't be in that faster current anyways especially not in that cold of water. Find te sunnier spots, any rip rap banks or protruding rocks warm faster so fish their eddys. Also if you can find some fallen trees from the bank ino te water wood will hold some fish on cooler days. Just have to crack the code
  15. Any one taking advantage of this moon phase? It's our first significant one relating to a pre spawn movement. I caught my 2 biggest smallmouth tonight at my favorite lake in hampstead. Strike king finesse football jig and rage tail craw both in grn pumpkin.
  16. What's so great about the Bizer map I see that suggestion everywhere. Why Bizer over othe maps like FHS or Navionis?
  17. Don't know how thick the middle is but there's 10-20 ft around the edges open black ice across the big areas
  18. Caught a nice healthy 2lber yesterday on big island pond on te hampsead siDe. First point down from the channel coming from the inlet there's a sharp drop off to 35 ft. Caught on a floating rainbow trout colored cotton Cordell Redfin on the pause. No luck with jigs or Shakey heads but first cast on the jerk bait was money
  19. Where are you from Tom? The hooksett pool has a ramp at the southern end. Another great river for smallies with some deeper water too is the piscataquog. It's a tributary of the Merrimack that dumps in to miss Mack in down town manch south of the amoskeag dam. Most water on Merrimack is 6-10 ft. There a strip of piscataquog above Kelly falls dam that's 20 fow and above the Gregg dam is 50fow. At this point in prespawn the deep water is playing a big role in location of bass it might be easier to locate them especially too sice both those deeper pools I mentioned are technically reservoirs w contour maps accessible online that way u can do some pre fishing planning
  20. Current is moderate in most stretches. What kind of boat are you looking to navigate? I would choose wisely on what stretch you want to boat on hooksett has some pools for Boating as well as merrimack Nashua and there's a shorter one in Bedford below the falls tht has good bass aswell as walleye. Hooksett had a pool with power plant warm water discharge that is great this time of year because of the water temp. Let me know what stretch ou were thinking and ill tell u where there's a launch near by and a guage station t find flow info
  21. Beautiful out today I think I'm going to head to the Merrimack or piscataquog today anybody have advice on where to look in a river system and also baits?
  22. We're mostly opened in my immediate area of Manchester idk about the bigger lakes like massabesic but with the sun and wind it catches I bet it's not bad
  23. Hey Nev anything on the Nashua area opened yet? For a couple years I fished a lot there. There's that pond off main st I think salmon falls that must be almost open?
  24. Has anyone with navionics or other fishing maps besides electronics found reservoirs around here with the creek/river channels marked besides winnisquam? I've been searching high and low
  25. Bass assassin 5" albino shad
