[Hi!] Fishing Spots Mclean, Reston Area

Featured Replies

Hello everyone, I'm Marco. I just got back stateside. Got myself some basic fishing gear and looking for some local spots to hit up on days off of maybe even on a morning / after work (around midnight). Got my license today and really eager to get in there and catch me some nice fish.

No boat, just shore fishing, looking for bass.

Welcome to the site Marco. You should check out the Southeast and Northeast fishing boards on this site. Maryland and Virginia have threads there.

If I lived in Reston and was shore bound I'd head to the upper Potomac for smallmouth, or hit some local ponds.  Riverbend Park is a good spot to shore fish/wade for smallies. Check out the book "Wade and Shoreline Fishing the Potomac River for Smallmouth Bass: Chain Bridge to Harpers Ferry" by Steve Moore. His book details this entire stretch of river and gives locations. It's available online in PDF for just a few bucks.

New Horizon Bass Anglers out of northern VA..   There is another great group of fisherman at a private website.  The owner is a member of BR.  Maybe he'll see your request and contact you.
