  1. Cheap Mr Coffee maker and Cafe Bustelo.
  2. Reading through the text, I thought I knew where this was going... boy was I wrong. Really wrong...
  3. There are a couple of videos on YT about setting up a BFS baitcasting reel.
  4. I have a few. This build would be for a 22 Aldebaran BFS.
  5. This helps. I am trying to work with the guy that has built many rods for me and another friend. BFS is not something he has experience with and I want to get this right. Lots of nice off the shelf options for BFS but, having another custom makes it special.
  6. Is there such a thing as a BFS blank or taper? Is it just an UL blank built for baitcasting?
  7. Can anyone with this reel tell me the diameter of the palm side plate?
  8. This post was worth looking at just to see those first few names from the past...
  9. I will second Clint Eastwood spaghetti westerns, Tombstone and Unforgiven. When I was recovering from my knee replacement, I had quite a bit of TV time. I watched a TON of shows I never watched before and I am in my early 60s. Gunsmoke and The Rifleman. Where were these all my life?
  10. Are you kidding me? Nick Barr? Man have been here a long time...LOL
  11. A long, long time ago, I can still remember, when... (come on old guys...LOL) A Berkley Lighting Rod could not be beat. When I was guiding, my boat was full of them. Good enough to do he job and, I didn't want to cry when a customer would break one.
  12. I have the honor of being the oldest active member on BR since, Roadwarrior retired. (late 2004) I've been here for every update and Glenn is right. Us older folk freakout a little and in time, never think twice about "how it used to be". It's always an improvement. I'm all in... (after I once again figure out the changes...LOL)
  13. I had many Bantam 200BFS reels. I loved them back when...
  14. An old friend who is one of the smartest fisherman I ever met (he has fished all over the world). At 80, he fishes 150 plus days a year. He owned a fly shop in Baltimore for years. When customers would ask the age old question, "how do I catch more fish?", his answer was always, "sharpen your hooks." Once when I was a guide fishing with a good and long time customer, I was able to fish along side him. The spinnerbait bite was hot. Bite after bite after bite. I was killing them, pretty much every fish in the boat. He was getting just as many bites but, wasn't landing any where near as many fish. Frustrated after another lost fish, he turned and asked, "Capt Dave, what am I doing wrong?" I told him it may sound silly but, sharpen your hook. He said it was brand new. I asked him to perform the thumb nail test, then to try it on my hook. Not even close as sharpness goes. I took out my diamond sharpener and sharpened his hook. He didn't miss another fish. He was stunned. New doesn't mean sharp, and sharpness means everything.
  15. I he made a request. Your turn... Serve, return serve... It must be worth something, or he wouldn't have asked...
  16. Fluoro vs. braid slack line sensitivity... a fisherman once told me, "you can't push a rope"...
  17. I gave a good friend my Curado 100D last fall for helping me out in a pinch. If you are interested, we're about 30 minutes apart...
  18. Wow, I have two that sit in my shop doing nothing...
  19. I checked on eBay and the prices were ridiculous. Did I miss something?
  20. Smith Optics w/ readers.
  21. 60, I never had a vehicle that had ANY of these features... Until I did... and now, I LOVE every one of them. (with the exception of TPMS...LOL) I do still have a 2007 F150 with automatic transmission and manual window crank. I still look to my blind spots in my feature loaded vehicle (even though the warning light "warn" me) so as to not forget to look whilst driving my truck.
