  1. I have five 70XGs and a BFS XG. (I upgrade to longer handles) Years ago I had a Scorpion Quickfire. The guy I sold it to still uses it and loves it.

When I saw the title I thought, well, never mind...
  3. I like the hard aluminum knobs called "feel".
  4. Ten years as a guide and this is the truest sentence ever... '' I even ask for my money back when I guide myself sometimes 😂''
  5. My all time favorite horror film is the original Exorcist. 12 some odd years ago, (I sound like Grandpa Simpson...) my oldest daughter, (now 33) and her then boyfriend, came over to watch my DVD of the Exorcist one Halloween. They had watched all of the current "horror" films of the current day. They said, "how could a movie made in the early 70's be scary?" They both spent a good deal of the movie, watching through their spread fingers, covering their faces. When Regan's head spun around, she got up from the couch and said, "I'm done". I protested. "Nope. you win, I'm done". The scariest, realest movie ever made.
  6. Those look like saltwater hooks. (and ditto on what's going to happen because you only bought one...LOL)
  7. We target bowfin on purpose. They don't cut you off with their teeth necessarily, they break you off because they are brutes.
  8. I have custom built, light power, fast rod and a Shimano Stile 100XG. I have to hold on to it so it doesn't float away like a helium balloon...
  9. I clicked on the post because I mis-read the title, I thought it said, Cast Iron Pants... Thanks gin...
  10. Mohs procedure twice in the last five years, more to come I'm sure. Mom died from melanoma, no chances here...

  12. Years ago, I was suffering with that as well. While wearing that same brace, my boss had us out digging post holes for a new, slit rail fence. I used a manual post hole digger for a few holes. A day later, I realized my elbow no longer hurt. Whatever it was, that motion cured it.
  13. A gin and tonic with the very first, crisp, clean pour of tonic.
  14. And don't need another EXO for it...?
  15. I had a client years ago that picked up his spinning rod and started casting...reel upside down. I said, "hey John..." he stopped me and said, "if you're going tell me about my reel, don't." He could cast and reel as good as any. He booked me another half dozen times for every species fished. Good times.
  16. My fishing partner and I are (were) both guides. We drove to Houma, LA to fish for reds with a guide. We stopped on the way and way home to fish Guntersville with a guide. (fairly famous at the time and shall remain nameless). At each spot, he stopped the boat, bounded out of the seat, grabbed his rod, deployed the trolling motor went to casting. We were left to just stand behind him and fish behind him. In our boats, we run remote control trolling motors. We stand in the back of the boat while clients fish. BTW, the guide in Houma was fantastic. We were all the same type of guides. He drove and steered the boat while we fished.
  17. I changed over from 832 two years ago. The smoothness and lower diameter.
  18. I was a guide for ten years. I let my USCG license expire in July. We can't control the fish. What we can do it work our butts off. We can teach you, we can help make you a better caster and angler. A fishing guide is professional angler, a teacher, a story teller, an entertainer, a comedian. Condescension is NEVER an option. And we try to put you on a few fish...
  19. Lightning Rods were my go to guide boat rods. Great for the money and if a customer breaks one, $40 and new one appears. I actually have a handful of spinning rods left if someone wants them cheap and pays shipping...
  20. Mo Money, mo money, mo money...LOL
  21. Amazon Gomexus. Six and counting...
