BFS Blanks
So, in checking out the NFC website, I see the specs. For those with more BFS experience, will this blank catch bass with no issues? The price is certainly right.

BFS Blanks
Is there something that makes BFS blank different, from say a ML or L, fast blank for bass fishing?

Show Pics Of Your Custom BFS Casting Rod
I've been dabbling with BFS and really enjoing it. I have a Scorpion BFS. I've been fishing it on a Kistler Helium 3, 7' ML and a Castaway Invicta II "The Donk" 6'7". I've been looking at a Major Craft Benkei, 6'7", with the Tackle Warehouse Black Friday Sale, the price would be unbeatable. I have a few and am a big fan of acid wrapped rods. I have a guy that has built a few rods for me and another I've been talking about a build. (both are excellent builders that acid wrap as a rule) but, neither are familiar enough with BFS. I would be very interested in having one of you build me a BFS rod. Although the rods posted here are beautiful, I am a minimalist when it comes to rod builds. Accent it with red to compliment my Scorpion, that is all I would ask. Talk to me. PM me... (before the Black Friday Sale...LOL)

Sad day today
Blast from the past. I owned a few California Series back in the day.

Pistol Grip Rod Handles?
Back on Labor Day Weekend, I fished three days with a 5-1/2' St. Croix Pro Glass. My hand and wrist were done by the end of the three days. It'll be a white perch rod now, much easier on the ole' hand and wrist.

JDM Shimano Reel Question
I figure I know the answer but, as soon as I go figuring... I am figuring the number in the model, say Scorpion 16, that 16 is the year that model was introduced.

you all ever talk about Quantum reels?
I am a Shimano guy, period. I had a Smoke 100 PT that I had no problem, ever. Sold it here on BR, FAST. I currently have my only non-Shimano, an EXO 100PT. I fish it and have a very hard time finding any fault with it.

Plastic boats
What I did was purchase two 2x6's (8-10') boards and installed aluminum mounts to lie flat on the tailgate. Lift the boat onto the ramps and slide it up. Pull in the ramps and drive away. Reverse process to launch.

Soup
I traveled to Houston for the first time in December. Had a poblano soup for the first time. I found a recipe and made it shortly after, so good

Should I be looking at BFS?
I've been using a Castaway Invicta II called "The Donk" rated down to 1/16" with a JDM Calcutta 100D to cast weightless Little Dippers. I have Curado BFS XG on order and am considering a Taipan rod.

Horror movie fans...
I've seen the original 1973 The Exorcist many times, I even went to see the release a number of years back in theaters. #1 Horror movie in my book. Based on a true story that happened right here in Maryland. Only a fool believes the devil isn't real. My 31 year old daughter, when she was in high school, was into the horror movies of the time. She and her boyfriend would see every one that came out. She insisted that The Exorcist could not be all that scary because it was made in 1973 and how could they possibly have made a movie back then as scary as the current batch. I own it on DVD. I invited them to watch one Friday night. Not too far into the movie, she was watching it through slightly opened fingers with her hands over her eyes. When Regan's head spun around, she said, "I'm done, you win, I can't watch this". Both of them refused to finish the movie. Being based on a true story, I see it as a victory over evil.

Making the leap
I bought an IWI Masada today. Israeli made for law enforcement and military use. It is slightly smaller than a full size but, bigger than a compact. I have to wait my seven days and I pick up next Saturday. While I was there I saw some really cool short barrel shotguns I didn't know existed. All Turkish made pumps. I can see having one as the price is good.

The official "Who's drinking tonight?" thread
Jim Beam Black neat tonight. I have real nice ice sphere I like to use. It takes a long time to melt. I've decided to go neat because I find myself refilling the glass until the ice sphere is gone. That ends up being quite a lot of bourbon in one evening...LOL

Christmas Music Favorites
Almost all of what is on the radio all season prior to actual Christmas Eve is the same secular musical dregs. I can barely tolerate it. Even the songs that relate specifically to the real meaning of Christmas when they are arranged for pop music...ugh. I go through the entire season (Advent) tolerating family and officemates need to hear Christmas music for weeks on end and I am not in the mood (or Christmas spirit) for any of it. However, once I walk into the church for midnight Mass on Christmas Eve, it is like someone flips a switch and there is no place I'd rather be. Luckily like most things seasonally secular, the Christmas music magically disappears Dec 26th.
