Hi there, this is my first post, so im just getting used to things! Im headed up to Lake George in Upstate New York and i will be there for a week. I was wondering if smallmouth will hit a frog such as a Stanley Ribbit frog and other topwater frogs(not only specific to Lake George, just smallmouth in general). If anybody has any personal experiences with the Lake George bass then please share some advice! Thanks in advance!

Heck yeah, I used to do real well with some smaller custom made buzzfrogs on smallies. 

 

Also, don't tell anybody... but I caught several off of a banjo frog I found floating down the river. 

Try a livetarget 45T or a spro baby popping frog. Small mouths mean smaller baits.

Booyah makes a mini frog that is about 2" long and weighs about a 1/4 oz. and that thing is fantastic. The hooks are so sharp and the bass just crush it.

well, "normal" is relative. I fish 6" swimbaits and 3/4 oz frogs for largemouth bass. most smallmouth bass under 4 pounds aren't going to fit a Livetarget 65T in their mouths or a 6" hudd.

It will catch them just fine if your around them and they are biting, I have caught them on 65 size Spro bronze eye frogs, and Zoom horny toads.  You will catch plenty of smallmouth, and even the ones under 4lbs on baits that the young "expert" deems as too big for them.

Smallies are so aggressive! If you put a shakey head with no soft plastic, just the head on a smallmouth bed they will hit it LOL...

I agree with this. To me there so aggressive. Unlike there bigger cousin's. I don't feel like I have to down size for small mouths. I once caught a small mouth on a senko. The kicker was it felt like it was bigger then it was when I felt the tap. I set the hook and a baby small mouth comes flying at me. So if a small mouth is willing to eat a bait as big as it. A 4-5 in frog will work.
