Connecticut River

Featured Replies

I am going to be fishing the Connecticut River soon. I will be launching from the Hadam Meadows launch. I have never fished this river, or any river for that matter. I am wondering if anyone fishes this part of the CT. River, and if so could help with some info about the river. (ie what lures/colors work well and any areas to target) Thank you for any info you can provide.

Right now the river is running heavy and fast, with a lot debris floating down. June was a record rainfall month with almost 10". Water is heavily discolored up here in Mass. If you "have to" fish it, please be very careful on the water.

Live upstream from Crestliner, but right on the banks of the CT River in Vermont.  It's a mess, and - with more rain predicted - it's not getting any better.

Be careful out there.

As it clears up here....Hadam will be getting the brunt of it. I wouldn't try it myself....but then again I'm probably a lot older than you are. :)

How about fishing the river from the banks down in the Essex area on east banks? It looks like there would be a lot of nice little hollow spots there. Sea grass and all.

How soon is soon? I'd suggest spinnerbaits, senkos, cranks in main river and frogs, senkos and other soft plastics in the canals.b
