Worth Driving To Miami Airport For Bank Fishing?

Featured Replies

Trying to get on some peacock bass this weekend. I don't have a boat. Is the Blue Lagoon worth driving out to to fish from the bank?

If not, any suggestions on bank fishing for peas?

Where are you driving from? I went fishing in the Kendall area in alot of complexes in canals and caught some fish on foot.

You have not updated your profile so I do not remember what part of town you live in. If you are thinking about blue lagoon, I would re-think it. You have limited bank accessibility. The only public area is the park, where the boat ramps are located, and even there you have to pay to enter during the weekend. Being its a 4th of July weekend, its going to be busy. My suggestion if you are that determine to catch peacocks, familiarize yourself with your area. I think you live in South Broward. I could be wrong. There is a strong population of pea's in South Broward. Save your gas, Miami-Dade County is a very big place, and unless you are willing to drive down and find "spots" then it might be worth your while. Sounds like your really determined to catch peacocks, maybe you should consider a half day guide trip to familiarize yourself with Miami-Dade waters. Just a thought. Good Luck

Blue lagoon you'll need a boat for sure, tell us where your at I'm sure we can help you find some local spots to try  that you can bank fish at.

Thanks guys. I'm in Miramar in Broward.

Honestly I like to catch anything. I figured peas might be best since its so hot. I've caught a ton of Mayan Cichlids with night crawlers but I really want to target something bigger.

I've thought about trying for snook or even freshwater tarpon. I don't mind driving.

Im also willing to split gas if anyone has a boat and wants company.

i was at blue lagoon recently and u really need a boat, there area that u can fish by foot is very limited behind the park by the boat ramp only and on weekends there a high traffic of jet skis all over.ive also heard that your truck n trailer could be at risk due to theft..
