  1. I use wallmart fishing equipment..my most productive lure has always been a silver spoon ..my secret weapon that never fails is a casting net.bait bucket.live bait what ever i catch on the net and a bobber..ive got the most fish that way
  2. Keep ur big 21footer n buy a 12ft jonboat like i have 2 explore canals.lakes n rivers
  3. I have a 12ft.aluminum jonboat with a trolling motor n a small 4hp out board..its awesome i just launch of the bank n side of any canal or lake i see
  4. I use goggle and bing maps and any where i find a body of water i think could be productive i go and explore it..a small kayak or jonboat with a trolling or small gas motor is a blessing .

I use goggle earth .goggle maps n bing maps 2 scout out lakes n canals 2 fish..i use a casting net 2 catch awesome live bait.it never fails..if u have an atv/4wheeler u can really fish some realy good huney holes deep in the everglades..hell i can give u the location of 2 good huney holes in the turkey point/homestead area....Jamesfish13 is correct!
  6. i use goggle maps and bing maps to> find many on the canals,lakes and ponds i fish..theres fish in just about any canal n lake in miami,,,1 canal i love its wide n deep is the 1 passing krome ave going west up tamiami trail< to ur right hand side..

  8. yes homestead/south dade is loaded with pea's>every time atving and find a lake or canal>i give it a few casts>i always nail those> Pea's>>has any body here ever eaten 1>a buddy tells me they are tastey,??
  9. many times while fishing from shore ive had to throw a rock at them,,it just scares them for a while and they pop up some where else to watch you..ive fished some remote canals/lakes where its a gator infestation.im talking 8,10,12 gators all infront of you>watching you..its scary just to think if i trip and fall in..
  10. since i saw alot of small live bait fish of all types swimming around>i figured what ever big fish in this lake must eat those same bait fish> i thru some beard in the water & let the bait fish group up> thru my casting net & got id say 12 or so small bait and i put them in a bucket with water,,mannn the min.i cast a live bait fish a few yards from the shore>it didnt even last 1min before the bobber got slammed & pulled under water,pulled it out> a fat 6lb peacock bass..then i said let me see whats roaming around the bottom>so i got a 6in shinny bait on the hook with a sinker stright to the bottom,,2min.later i got a huge pull and the fight was on big time,im talking my reel was screaming like a bull horn,,pulled it up an 18in thick snakehead,,i had a blast honestly
  11. i recently went fishing to a small lake i found while riding my atv out in homestead and i noticed alot of small bait fish all around,so i started casting with artificial baits and the bite was slow>>now the min.i put a bobber with a live worm or live bait fish i got with my casting net>OMG the action was really amazing!>>>is it just me or is it a whole lot more fun & productive fishing day> using live baits???
  12. 2weeks ago>i managed to make it on my atv> to a wide n deep>L-shaped canal,out in homestead behind the speedways towards>turkey point power plant..the canal is between sw 344street and sw 360street..every time i did a cast,i got snake head,i got 2 that were thick n heavy> the longest 1 was a full 28in long..i kepted 2 of them and cooked them at home>i must say they are very tastey,,i cut the fillets out cause honestly the look of the fish & head> grossed me out.i seasoned the fish with,garlic power,cilantro,blk.pepper,salt & parsley Y put it in the over with a side of mashed potatoes and mac n cheese..that was some gooooood eats i tell ya
  13. why do so many folks fish blue lagoon lake? is it cause its easy to access or what,ive ben fishing that lake for years and it hasnt been really productive for me .
  14. i use goggle maps to fins all my huney holes..il scout out a few ponds,lakes,canals in the everglades and then go on my atv to fish them,,ive found some killer huney holes using goggle maps
  15. wellcome buddy to bassresources....i do alot of canal,pond,lake fishing in the winter months here in dade county and the bait that has been the most productive for me has been a silver spoon..

  17. hey guys sorry that i had not writen anything about my solo camping n fishing trip into the glades,,i was in the caribbean on bizz for a while,,the trip was amazing, to say the least...im kinda glad i went alone..
  18. my dad has a house in key largo right on lake surprize,which was salt water, he killed a few cotton mouths in the yard that came out of the salt water canal in the back..we also saw a few alligators and salt water crocs on lake surprize.

  20. i was out on my atv in the everglades and i wanted 2 travel lite.so i only took a lite rod & 3 silver spoons..i worked the canal up/down for 1 hour,i nailed 8 bass smallest 8in, largest 15inches..i 4got how well those spoons work..
  21. after going 2 see the 14ft jonboat my buddy was selling and trying to lift it,im really thinking of getting a 12ft.instead,requires less power and way easier to throw in2 a canal over the side and it also sticks out 2ft.less on the bed of my truck..what u all think would go with a 12ft or 14ft jonboat in my case???
  22. when i was in boston last year i came across an asian restuarant that served(snake head fish)they claim to bring them from asia ( farm raised) ,let tell you it was pretty expensive of a plate eAt.
  23. ive always used spoons in clean/clear/deep waters & they work outstanding!!,where its shallow or lots of vegetation,i dont think they would work well..i looked up how & where to use spoons on youtube.com and there tons of videos on this subject..i remember my grand dad he was a commercial fishermen all his life,him telling me (i was 8yrs old).he showed me a silver spoon & said when u fish with 1 of these its fish i the bucket..i havnt used them in a while ( my fault) but i do recall spoons being super productive 4 me in the pasted,ever since i was a lil boy.

A buddy of mine called me & told me he spent the day up at flamingo-everglades national park,he fished both salt & fresh water 2day.since 6am,using only a silver spoon & said he did awesome! even texted me pixs..trout,bass,snook,red fish..does any 1 in here use spoons? and has it been productive for you??
  25. i do appriciate all the info pal..i was recently down around krome ave. and sw 8st on my motorcycle n came across this old blk.man fishing the 1st.levy/dam just west bound of krome ave. on ur right hand side going west..i pulled up next 2 him just being curious 2 see if he gotten anything,when i asked him how was the fishing, he open a cooler next 2 him and i was like wow!.he had id say 8 to 10 good sized fat bass in there,he also told me he had only been there a lil over 2hrs.he was using a reg.rod about 10lb line a bobber and live worms,he had about 3 or 4ft of line under the bobber n he would cast to the middle of the canal n wait.he had 6rods all in the water together,as i spoke 2 him,he pulled in another good sized bass..my question is,does this canal really produce this good fishing or was he just 1 lucky old man??????....cuse on the weekends that levy gets packed with fishermen n i dont see any 1 pulling in fish like that.
