So I have a chimano castaic reel that I disassembled last night and oiled and greased.  when I put it all back together and I turn the handle the spool does not turn.  beyond confused.  any suggestions???

There are some guys that know what they are talking about on here when it comes to reel mechanics, I'm not one of them unfortunately. I will say that if you can't figure it out DVT is highly recommended for reel repair/cleaning/etc. and I believe he gives a discount to BR members.

Could be few different things. Start by checking the yoke (pinion gear collar)and be sure it is right side up. Make sure the AR sleeve is seated into the top drag washer so it drives the main gear.

As a reminder:

3. Remember that the schematic is really a parts list and may or may not show order of assembly and parts orientation.
