What type areas do u target in summer ? Day or night?

I fish only in the day. If your lake has grass the deep edges is always good. For deep clear lakes I fish points and edges of creek channels that have bait around. This time of year I tend to target 10-30 fow.

Drop shot is a good all around the year type of presentation as it keeps the bait off the bottom and in the bass' face.

The best  I have found to use it is in the summer.

Throw it every where. Drop it straight down. Put it around docks and piers. Cast it out and fish it back like a Texas rig. Throw it on a drop off and let it fall.  Rig it weedless and hit the brushpiles and wood. Pull it over an underwater hump. Hit the main lake points. Hit the secondary points.

We had great success on the Potomac River in the grass with a drop shot by dropping it in the holes in the grass.

Throw it parallel to lily pads.

In other words, always give the drop shot a shot when and where you are fishing.

If you want to have some fun and cover more water from the bottom, try fishing the drop shot as a double drop shot. I use the VMC spin shot hooks. I put onw about 6 to 8 in. from the wweight and the other hook about 12 in. from the other hook.you will get doubles at times but now you can cover more water.

ya you can do pretty much anything with it, i like it for smallmouth in rocks, drop it next to some big boulders and wait for a smallie to slam it
