My First Trout

Featured Replies

It's not a giant (at least I don't think it is).

But this is one of the most beautiful fish I've ever caught.

Fish taken in Estes park Colorado on a spinning outfit with a finesse worm.

Hoping to catch a bunch more!  :bushy-browed:

Anyone want to take a stab at identification?

I'm guessing it's a  brown maybe?

It looks to be a nice brownie.  Congrats.

Nice little Estes Park brownie, did you catch it in the lake or the river? If you want to catch a lot more of them try a small gold inline spinner or a 1/8 - 1/4 oz kastmaster in rainbow or brown trout colors.

Nice little brownie!  They are so fun!  In my top 5 fish for sure!  They get BIG and fun to catch!  J Francho has caught a BEAUTY, but he is being humble about posting his picture!

I've been fishing the river. I might have to stop at the tackle store. Caught a number on a silver inline spinner, and half a zinker z on a jighead.

Nice fish!  DNR stocks browns and rainbows in a creek by my house in the fall and winter.  It really helps to fill the void when the temperatures drop and the bass bite dies off.
