How do you catch a bass with a casting spoon?

I cast them out, let em hit the bottom, then just rip it up off the bottom and let it fall again.

Many will also work with a straight retrieve or an in between cadence with some rips and falls.   Daredevyls I have been much more successful with rips and falls, Kastmasters on straight retrieves.   Watch the spoon as you fish it, some have a great wobble on the retrieve but sink like a rock on the drop, some have a great flutter on the drop and come back with the action of a lead sinker on a steady retrieve.    Most good spoons look good no matter which way you fish them,  but tend to shine more in one area or another. 

I like to let them sink to the desired depth, then begin a moderately slow, steady retrieve. I will then pause for 2 - 3 seconds every 10 seconds or so, then reel them forward or twitch them forward fast, then steady again. Rinse and repeat.
